August Currently! I'm baaaaack!

I haven't blogged in soooooooo long so I decided that I would make my comeback with the August currently! I'm sitting down and I just opened up Farley's blog and there are already 198 entries! Wowsa!

Loving...
My new computer! I think my last 5 currentlys said that I needed a new computer and I FINALLY saved up enough pennies to get a new one! I couldn't even remember what a working laptop was... my old one had a broken screen, the power cord was broken and the track pad would go crazy every once in a while. My new one is fresh, clean and super fast!

Thinking...
I want to meet my new nephew already! So, my sister's due date is actually today but we want him out already! Like last week! Maybe it'll be tomorrow...

Wanting...
To start setting up my classroom but I have to wait until next week because it is going through cleaning this week.

Needing...
Just...one...more...week... Next week I start setting up my classroom and the week after I start school! Boooo! Gotta make the best of the little time I have left.

B2s must haves...
1. New pencils... I gotta have new pencils to go with my new plan book, right? I ONLY use pencil in my plan book because, well, you all understand the need to erase and switch things around.

2. New first day of school outfit... I just gotta have one! I always feel just a little more confident talking to those parents for the first time when I have extra cute clothes on!

3. New lunch bag... because... well... I'm just a nerd that way. I always loved back to school shopping ever since I can remember. My mom would always joke that she would lose me in a Staples or Office Depot because I would just roam all the aisles and looking for a new lunch box/bag was always on the list. I finally got myself a 31 bag...

It's April Fool's Day and I have no pranks, jokes or fools... I'm quite the party pooper but that's okay because I'm joining Farley's fabulous Currently Linky party AND I'm finally having my 200 follower giveaway!!!
Here's mine...

Listening- Spring break couldn't have come soon enough! I needed the break and I totally feel like the kids were ready for a break as well. They were driving me nuts! I had a day to catch up on some work and prep and the rest is relaxation...
Loving- For Easter, I got to spend the day with my husband and our newest niece! She's only 3 months old, doesn't care about Easter but she is super cute to stare at and play with. My husband doesn't understand how my sister-in-law and I can just stare at her but I'm sure the ladies and mommies out there understand me! Maybe when (hopefully) we have our own, he'll understand (no it's not a plan yet)
Thinking- about my husband's great dilemma! After high school, he was in the military for 6 years, traveled overseas, went to war 3 times and moved far away from me and his family. After the military, he took a year off then started school. He finished his BA in three and a half years and was just offered 2 positions at UCLA (where he was interning). I am more proud of him today than I have ever been. Now he has to make a tough choice between 2 completely different jobs.
Wanting- a new phone! I picked up my cousin's phone on Thursday and said, "that's it! I need a new phone!" Her phone was so awesome; it was some sort of Galaxy phone. I want one, but I don't need one (until I throw it on the floor! just kidding).
Needing- a pedicure... badly... enough said...
Advice- JUST LAUGH IT OFF! Come on, what else can you really do sometimes?

I'm baaaack with a CURRENTLY!

Hello folks!
My poor little blog hasn't gotten any love in such a long time! Well, I'm here today and I'm ready to jump into the Currently linky party! Ok, ok, first let me tell you what's been going on since I've been gone... my sister-in-law had my first niece! Hailey Marie... oh, she's so stinkin cute! AND my sister is pregnant now! Oh babies are going to be everywhere! That has put the pressure on my and my husband like no other... we have a plan... now isn't the time... now isn't the time... now isn't the time... lol. I have to keep telling myself that because seeing so many babies makes me drool! =) Anywho...here's my currently...

Listening: Ahhh the sound of clean dishes and well moisturized hands!

Loving: My new red Toms! I usually stick to the basic colors: black, white, blue, beige but I went out and got RED! I love them! My feet are quite small so I was able to snag some kid's sizes AND they are sooooooo comfy!

Thinking: It's been a long time, I missed you all!

Wanting: to try Hulu. Anyone have it? Is it worth it? Could I get rid of my cable for it? A friend of mine said that her friend has Hulu and Netflix instead of cable but is it really worth it? Will I still be able to see my Housewives?? lol.

Needing: A haircut! My locks are getting dry and long and out. of. control!

Pet peeves: Loud chewing. Ugh! You know that Kit-Kat commercial that has everyone taking a bite? I mute that commercial because I can't stand the sound! It especially gets under my skin when I can see the food or hear the food turning around in your mouth as you chew so loudly on it. Ick! Keep your lips together people. If it's too hot, don't drink it because slurping is gross! lol. Ok, I think you get it. My next pet peeve? Rule Breakers! Can't everyone just follow the rules? Not following the rules makes it harder on everyone else. I'm talking about adults people. Adults who choose not to do what has been asked. It really bothers me because I am such a rule follower that I can't even believe others would do something different.

I made it back just in time for December's Currently!
I have had a whirlwind past few weeks! My mom had surgery, my husband is in his final weeks of school (fingers crossed it all goes well), I have a student teacher and you know what? I sure do love my naps! lol. But I'm done being a blog slacker...

RAK= Random Act of Kindness... I'm gonna do it! Pay it forward friends!

Oh! And I wanted to share that I got an award today! Well, everyone gets one, it just so happened to be my turn. =) My students were so excited for me. I really hate being put on the spot though, I could feel my face turn tomato red in front of all of kindergarten, first grade, and their families. The nicest part was that the administrator giving the award had some really kind things to say about me AND it just so happens that her daughter is in my class. It was sweet.  Does anyone else feel their ears burning and face turn red in public or is it just me? Anyone know how to control that?? lol.

November Currently

Hola Amigos!
I am so happy to be back! I have been nursing my family back to health for a week now and I am ready to be done! hehe. Seriously, I don't know who has been worse, my husband or my mother! Well, we all know the answer to that... MY HUSBAND! lol. They are both healthy and I am glad for that!
Here is my November currently... I can't believe it's only the 5th and I'm already late for the party... better late than never AND I LOVE the rule of 3... Head over to Farley's blog to find some new blogs and read ALLLLL of the currentlys (if you have enough time!)...

Listening: The Big Bang Theory! I love that show! Soo glad there are re-runs on everyday!

Loving: The extra hour of sleep. Enough said.

Thinking: HOW THE HECK DO ALL OF YOU DO IT!?? We had Halloween, Report Cards and parent conferences last week... I was pooped! I don't know how all of you juggle work, life & blogging so well...

Wanting: New fall clothes... c'mon.... everyone needs them, right?

Needing: A BREAK! A THANKSGIVING BREAK! Who's with me? We don't get a Fall Break like some of you others out there so I feel like I am running on empty about now. I need a little break to recharge my batteries

Music: Oh man, I didn't even know what to write there. Music for myself is the local radio stations... Music in the classroom? SO MUCH ALL THE TIME! I use a song for clean ups, to introduce new lessons, review &  brain breaks. I also use videos (now that I have my pretty whiteboard) all the time. I went to a professional development my first year of teaching and got a chance to see Rick Morris who is AMAZING! He gave us a CD that I have used everyday since... Check it out... The videos? I like to see Harry Kindergarten's work... it is fantastic! I "rapped" about the seasons today, my kids LOVE his work! As do I...  
I use this one everyday for clean up...

Currently & a Window

Hi Friends!
I have figured out why I'm such a blogging slacker... I have no plan! Well that and I try to see my nephew as often as possible and when that happens, I'm too tired to lift a finger! Still, I have no plan! I have set up a little schedule for myself and I'm ready to commit!
Here it goes...
First up? Currently!!
I love these things! I love to read other people's responses and I think it's funny when I see some that are similar or have the same answers, great minds think alike huh?

I am LOVING my new whiteboard... I have rearranged my classroom, set up things a little differently and have been using that baby every day! I am going to post the current state of my classroom soon. I can't tell you how exciting it is! Well, maybe some of you know already because you have one BUT there are only 2 on our campus: one in my classroom and one in a fourth grade classroom. That's it.
I am THINKING that I need to put another project up soon! I just got another one funded for some interactive games to go with the whiteboard but I'm not sure what to do next...
I am WANTING some new clothes because, well seriously, doesn't everybody? And if my husband tells me that I have plenty of clothes one more time... I'm gonna lose it!!!! lol.
I am NEEDING a day off of work, Monday off? Shortened Day? Something! We started earlier than ever this year and it is really taking a toll on my body.
BOOK: There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves because reading this to kindergarteners is just so much fun! They are so cute and silly when they hear silly stories, it's so fun to read to them.

Next up?
I have to share with all of you my Fall Window. This is our first year making these and I think it is so cute! Now the picture doesn't do it too much justice but I swear it looks good up close. Each of the students chose the leaf shape that they wanted and sponge painted it with "Fall Colors" orange, yellow and red. We (myself and my student teacher) cut them out and put them onto the window as this display. I also wrote all of the students' names on their leaves so that they could all be a part of our classroom tree. To make the trunk and branches, I used a brown paper bag crumbled up and flattened out.
